Solid Dowel / Spring Pins

Spring dowel pins are incredibly high strength pins that come with high durability and a long life expending for several decades. They are manufactured with a diameter slightly greater than the drilled hole through which it is to be inserted. The elasticity of these pins then applies a radial force across its length. Pins contain a slot that allows compression when inserted into the hole. The spring pin is used to assemble the parts without a screw. This makes it one of the most valuable and straightforward fastening systems in the market.
Hardened and precisely shaped dowel pins are used to keep machine components in accurate alignment; they are also used as location guides for adjacent machine parts and to keep the two sections of a punch and die in alignment. Because of their shock and vibration absorption capacity, and reusability they are used in many heavy-duty industries more economically. The automotive, aerospace, construction, and manufacturing industries rely on dowel pins to join different components of machines together to ensure proper alignment.
Spring dowels are used in applications where the dowel pins have to be disassembled from the location. The pins are incredibly versatile and can effectively replace bolts, washers, and retaining rings. But it can replace threaded components. These dowel pins due to their inherent "elasticity", the property of it to get squeezed as inserted, make them a tight fit in a location. Due to the slit, any system fastened with these pins is resistant to vibrations and rapid movements without going through any wear and tear.  But they can be easily taken out by compressing them again. All this possible due to the slit gave and the spring material it is made of.
